Library returns to previous hours
The Library will restore its hours of operation, beginning on Monday, April 1. The passage of a 1-mill levy this past November has made it possible for the Library to reinstate the hours that were cut back in 2009. This includes restoring Sunday hours in September and May. The restored hours are:
Monday-Thursday: 9 am - 9 pm
Friday and Saturday: 9 am - 6 pm
Sunday: 1 - 5 pm (Labor Day - Memorial Day)
Those using the drive-up service window should note that the window closes 15 minutes before the main building. The drive-up book drop is open when the Library is closed, as is the walk-up book drop on Broad Street.
"We're delighted to be able to fulfill our campaign pledge to restore hours," said Library Director C. Allen Nichols. "We surveyed customers to find out the hours they found most convenient, and it turned out to be the hours we had in the past. It took a bit of time to advertise, interview, hire, and train employees to fill the expanded shifts, but we're where we need to be now."
