Library board appoints new director

From a field of 50 candidates, the Wadsworth Public Library Board of Trustees has selected Daniel Slife to fill the position of director. Slife, currently director of the Huron Public Library in Erie County, will begin his tenure on Monday, October 7.

Slife has a degree in urban studies from Cleveland State University and a Master of Library and Information Science degree from Kent State University. Prior to his position at the Huron Library, Slife was a supervisor in the Adult and Electronic Services Department at Lakewood Public Library, where he was also active in the library's levy campaign. His background further includes civic activism and volunteerism, two interests that helped to lead him into the library profession.

Slife, who is married and has a child, intends to move to Wadsworth in the near future.
